The Irish Sangha Trust (IST) was established in 2011 to support and foster teaching and meditation practice in the Theravada Buddhist tradition in Ireland. The Irish Sangha Trust is non-profit Buddhist organization, entirely dependent on the generosity of the public for voluntary donations.

Our annual schedule includes regular workshops, retreats and meditation sittings. Events are open to everyone from beginners to experienced practitioners. We welcome you to join our spiritual friends network and experience the profound benefits of meditation practice.

One-day Online Meditation Retreat "Thoughts, thoughts, thoughts ... quieting the mind in meditation" with Ayya Vimala

Saturday, April 17th, 2021 - 10:45 am to 8 pm

Please join us for a one-day meditation retreat on with Ayya Vimala from Tilorien Buddhist Monastery (Belgium).

Topic: "Thoughts, thoughts, thoughts ... quieting the mind in meditation"

When we sit in meditation we want to stop, relax and just have some time for ourselves. But our mind seems to have a life of it's own and is still busy planning or thinking about the events of the day. In this one-day retreat Ven. Vimala will discuss the underlying conditioning behind the thinking mind and give some techniques to quiet the mind with wisdom and understanding.
