The Irish Sangha Trust (IST) was established in 2011 to support and foster teaching and meditation practice in the Theravada Buddhist tradition in Ireland. The Irish Sangha Trust is non-profit Buddhist organization, entirely dependent on the generosity of the public for voluntary donations.

Our annual schedule includes regular workshops, retreats and meditation sittings. Events are open to everyone from beginners to experienced practitioners. We welcome you to join our spiritual friends network and experience the profound benefits of meditation practice.

Foundation Meditation Workshops with Teacher Sunone from Malaysia

Sunday, October 4th and Saturday, October 10th, 2015

Sunone is an experienced traveling meditation teacher, who has undergone five years intensive meditation training with Burmese teachers, and is good friend to the IST. Due to suggestions and requests from many who have participated in Sunone's meditation sessions in Dublin, we have organized a foundation meditation workshop with her.

We are looking forward to spending two days with Sunone meditating and creating a harmonious relationship with our body and mind. It will be a great sharing and we are so happy to have the opportunity to benefit from the knowledge and experience of Sunone who studied in the monastery in Burma for many years.

Please read more detailed description of workshops and preparation here.

These workshops are suitable for both beginners and experienced practitioners. It is possible to attend one day only or both days.

The retreat includes practice of sitting, walking and standing meditation (both guided and non-guided), mindfulness, Dhamma talks which cover many aspects of the Threefold training as well as elements of Vipassana (practice of insight), Dhamma discussions and personal guidance.
