The Irish Sangha Trust (IST) was established in 2011 to support and foster teaching and meditation practice in the Theravada Buddhist tradition in Ireland. The Irish Sangha Trust is non-profit Buddhist organization, entirely dependent on the generosity of the public for voluntary donations.

Our annual schedule includes regular workshops, retreats and meditation sittings. Events are open to everyone from beginners to experienced practitioners. We welcome you to join our spiritual friends network and experience the profound benefits of meditation practice.

  1. The purpose of this retreat is ‘no purpose’. This means an opportunity for you to discover what is right for you. You will, slowly and with the support of the group, practice finding your way both for the retreat and for your personal healing and growth.
  2. Practicing silence and the spiritual principles of the ‘five mindfulness trainings’ and 'Love, acceptance, honesty, patience, humility, willingness, self-discipline, and service' will be observed for the whole retreat.
  3. Cultivating loving kindness, generosity and consideration...
  4. Openness… allowing your body and mind to relax and your heart to open.
  5. Noble silence might be practiced during the retreat and we will learn to leave old ways and thinking behind.
