The Irish Sangha Trust (IST) was established in 2011 to support and foster teaching and meditation practice in the Theravada Buddhist tradition in Ireland. The Irish Sangha Trust is non-profit Buddhist organization, entirely dependent on the generosity of the public for voluntary donations.
Our annual schedule includes regular workshops, retreats and meditation sittings. Events are open to everyone from beginners to experienced practitioners. We welcome you to join our spiritual friends network and experience the profound benefits of meditation practice.
2-day Meditation Retreat with Dr. Shiro Bandara from London, UK
Saturday, June 13th - Sunday, June 14th, 2015
The Noble Eightfold Path is one of the principal teachings of the Buddha, who described it as the way leading to the cessation of suffering and the achievement of self-awakening. It is used to develop insight into the true nature of reality.
During the retreat we will learn and excel practical skills of applying teachings of the Buddha to dealing with and resolving life situations in a more mindful, kind and wise way.
Retreat includes practice of sitting, walking and standing meditation (both guided and non-guided), mindfulness, Dhamma talks which cover many aspects of the Threefold training as well as elements of vipassana (practice of insight), Dhamma discussions and personal guidance.
